Rosecliff is a historic mansion in Newport, Rhode Island, and it was originally commissioned by Theresa Fair Oelrichs.
Rosecliff was completed in 1902, and Theresa Fair Oelrichs, a silver heiress, was one of its first owners. She built the mansion as a summer residence.
The mansion has changed hands over the years, and different owners have held it since Theresa Fair Oelrichs.
Rosecliff was later owned by the Monastery of the Precious Blood and was eventually purchased by Mr. and Mrs. J. Edgar Monroe.
The Monroes donated Rosecliff to the Preservation Society of Newport County in 1971.
