MANCHESTER, N.H. – The CEO of a New Hampshire company that cut its ties to the WikiLeaks website says he remains confident in his decision despite the criticism he's faced from the site's supporters.
Through a company it bought earlier this year, Manchester-based Dyn Inc., had been directing traffic to the wikileaks.org site until Thursday. That's when it pulled the plug, citing cyberattacks that were threatening the other 500,000 websites that use its free service.
In an exclusive interview Monday with The Associated Press, 29-year-old CEO Jeremy Hitchcock called the decision terribly difficult but said it was made after consulting with customers, industry experts and each one of his 55 employees.
He also says WikiLeaks failed to respond to e-mails warning that the service would be cut.
