get something quick to eat after leaving my friend's house in Milpitas. They were about to close. Two customers only inside that small fast food service and the owner and his helper. They were watching the news in Chinese. Out of curiosity, so I asked, "Are you guys from China or Hong Kong? the owner replied, "Taiwan"
I smiled and muted for a muntie or less then I said, "Taiwan is a small Island with a great success in its economy" China too is now an important player in the global stage. Are you Taiwanese ready to join China as a one country two system? The owner showed a grin in his facial expression then said, "No we prefer the way it is right now. No unification, no independence. The two customers expressed in louder tone of voice saying, "We are not part of China and we will never be part of China" We have been independent for over 50 years. China is a communist. I looked at the owner to see his reaction. He kinda softly repeated about his desire for the Status Quo. I sensed the strong dissatisfaction from the two guys so I changed the subject. I told them that I was facisnating with the history of Chinese dynasty after watching the movies. All the sudden, those two customers became friendly and asked about my nationality. We carried on a brief conversation. Soon after, the owner handed me the food I then said bye to all of them.
