It is safer. At least they can practise flying in the middle of nowhere and have less chance of crashing into another plane.
The Chinese likes the place so much they bought the flying school and the airstrip.

Last time I stopped over at KFC in the town, on my way driving to Sydney from Perth, in the 2000's, I saw some Chinese students there who were probably learning flying in the flying school.
