An operating system has two sides. One is facing the hardware and the other is facing the application programs.
Obviously, if there is any hardware change, the hardware side needs to be changed. If there is any change in the communication hardware, there will be change accordingly. Most of this side will remain the same if there are no other hardware changes.
On the program side, there are changes from time to time, but the changes are usually incremental.
Nothing much will be new as far as users are concerned. There may be new apps if 5G provides something which could not be done before.
