Lincoln's murder had little impact on African-American demographics and did not impacted slavery at all since the Emancipation Proclamation would have freed all slaves in rebel-held territory early in the Civil War and the 13th Amendment eliminated non-penal slavery throughout the country after the war. Legal importation of slaves ceased long before the Civil War, so what would have really affected blacks demographically would have been the continued mass importation of slaves for a few decades longer, after which the United States would have turned into Brazil in terms of racial demography.
