By May 10, the total cases in India had crossed 60,000 and death toll crossed 2,000. At this rate of 3,100 daily new cases, it'd take additional 7 days to surpass China in total cases. Meanwhile India's lock down will end in 10 days.Besides India, Canada and Peru are also on their way to surpass China, it seem Peru will be slightly ahead of India, while Canada may take 12 days or more.

Total Covid-19 Case Count In India Crosses 59,000
The total number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in India neared 60,000 by Saturday morning with less than ten days left for the lifting of an extended nationwide lockdown.
India added 3,320 new coronavirus infections over 24 hours, according to the Health Ministry’s 8 a.m. update. The total number of cases in India stands at 59,662. This includes 17,847 people who've recovered and 1,981 deaths.
Over those 24 hours, India has seen 1,307 patient recover and 95 new deaths.
Maharashtra, and particularly Mumbai, continues to be the hotspot of new infections in India. The city has invoked a colonial-era law making it compulsory for private doctors to sign up for duty at state-run hospitals, or face potential prosecution. Besides, it has had to shut down the Vashi APMC markets—a key hub for the city's food supply chain—completely from next week.
The western state is followed by Gujarat, Delhi, Tamil Nadu, Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh with the most cases.
India's health ministry has told citizens that they will have to learn to live with the virus, urging people to follow prevention guidelines and bring about a behavioural change.
