made me felt like karma has arrived for western society. I'm not talking about the slavery or indigenous people massacred by the west in the past, but about how the west judged the Chinese historical characters like Mao. The west judged Mao and other Chinese historical characters like Qin Shi Huang through black and white lens. They can't understand why many Chinese people still respect Mao and Qin despite them causing a lot of deaths and destruction during their rules. When the Chinese said that Mao was 70% good and 30% bad, the west mocked the Chinese for it. For them, it is either good or bad.
Now the protesters are pulling down the statues of western historical characters that the west used to considered heroes or good, like Churchill or George Washington for the bad deeds they had done during their lives. I bet this will affect their self identity and the foundation of their civilization. I can't wait to see how the west will deal with it. Expect a lot of statues to disappear and history books to be rewritten.
