carried out in Gobi Desert yesterday. Not much is known, except it is confirmed to be a Scramjet, speculated to be of the RBCC type as it is said to be rocket assisted take off, or TRBCC type as it's speculated to have flew back and landed.
Ok, there's an article on RBCC propulsion system from Xi'an Aerospace Propulsion Institute. It described RBCC propulsion system is a good choice for reusable launch vehicles. The key word is RBCC and reusable launch vehicle. This is the original article describing the test flight. Notably, it performed beyond expectation and inspected to be in good condition after test flight.
