RCEP is currently the third largest economic region in the world. When this trade block is compared to other trading regions or blocks, RCEP is already #3 in size for output.
In a decade or a little more, due to faster growth rates, the RCEP will exceed 50% of world output. That is pretty soon the RCEP will be the biggest economic region in the world, output exceeding the rest of the world combined.
This is the point. The US Dollar. The Americans are not part of the RCEP.
Which currency will the world's largest economic zone use to facilitate trade?
The RCEP will still use dollars, for the time being, but we can all see the dollar's role to eventually decrease.
Yet, not a single article I remember reading recently in the Liberal media dares to even bring up this possibility. No plan B.
