winter clothing as military clothing is very similar to good winter sporting apparel (better stitches ,more pockets etc) however now that you mention it-what about the classic Chinese quilted padded winter (cotton?)pants and coats of decades perhaps centuries of Northern China-I am from the South ,so never worn or even seen it and distant cousins who did fight in Korea and returned never brought back their clothes.Often depicted in movies and documntaries. Also just saw Star Trek episode where Yangs and Koms fight on alternate Earth and the Asian actors were dressed in such padded uniforms and stirred up memories of this subject.I am not sure what the Russians used classically although I was impressed by their pressed felt boots/liners and mittens that the Wehrmacht didn't have.
