The internal divisions in the US weren't started by Trump, but they have gotten worse under Trump, and it's unlikely that the US can take concerted military or political action against China in the near future due to internal problems. Biden (assuming his inaguration even occurs) will be hard pressed to restore trust with Europe and Japan. Trump's economic actions against China are something that would probably still happen under a Democratic president, but they would do it in a less ham-fisted manner.
