but I think this is a blessing in disguise. China is moving into automation at breakneck speed, probably far more quickly than any other country, even if other countries so far outspend China per capita in this area. It is India that is now and will become even more behind the automation curve as its working-age population swells with not enough jobs to distribute amongst them; this will become far worse as India begins to automate heavily as well. India's so-called demographic dividend may very well become the albatross around its neck that sinks its economy in the long run.
