Let me repeat what I had posted here and there: 2 kinds of narratives to explain hindustan problems:
1)The well known:"Its complicate"---like they've 16 official languages, racial/caste apartheid pyramid, hindu-muslim antagonism, 'aryan'-dravidian divide....
2)The seldom known(@least to non-indians):"It's simple"---Hindustan is an old civilisation, yes, but Hindustan as a larger political entity with a central gov is a juvenile and an emotional one at that
a)take a look at the india flag:
many mistook that wheel shape at the centre as Gandhi's weaving wheel; NO, it's the emblem of Asoka, a BC 3rd century king; Why Asoka? Ans: It was under Asoka India(@least the northern part)was unified the last and only time before the muslim Mughal conquest.
b)The ancient hindus were more interested in fairy tales like Mahabharata than writing history and they've poor pre-mughal historiography. Example: Travel logs of Faxian and Xuanzang are the most valuable history records of the buddhist kingdoms they sojourned to

Overall post-1947 india lacks governance experience as an independent country, sense of planning and sense of prioritisaton of objectives. EXamples abound. And china is quite the opposite. Compounded by emotional hype and urge for optics, u got a hijra slap dildo theatre, like Rome was actually Rama(according to a joker 'historian' P N Oak), Ganesh was the outcome of xeno-transplanting an elephant head to a human torso(confirmed by Modi himself)..... Fun to watch at a distance
