China has the most assets in the world, it has probably the largest sovereign wealth funds put altogether, and it is the biggest creditor in the world, along with having the number #2 or #3 largest stock market in terms of capitalization, and a rather significant bond market too.
On a relative basis and absolute basis, China never has been this wealthy in its history.
It is kind of odd too. With this kind of numbers, China will be dealing with first world problems, when they are still a developing country in a lot of areas.
This middle-income trap, seems to be an oxymoron for China. They have to get beyond the middle-income trap to be a rich country, when they already the wealthiest in the world apparently.
