Lijian-1 rocket is currently China's largest solid fuel rocket. A four stage rocket with lift off mass 135 ton, take off thrust 200 ton, length 30 m. diameter 2.65 m, payload fairing 2.65 m, SSO payload 1.5 ton, LEO payload 2 ton. The CAS Space is a commercial space launch enterprise owned by CAS, founded by a former CZ-11 launch manager.
LJ-1 development started in 2019, and successfully launched six satellites from Jiuquan on Jul 27 12:12 PM this year on its first flight. It takes only six months from signing contract to launch, 7 days preparation, CAS Space will have the capacity for 30 launches annually.
Compared with SSLV, LJ-1 launch mass is 16% larger, length 4 m shorter, diameter 0.65 m wider, ie. has a comparable size and weight, but the payload to SSO is 5 times larger, payload to LEO is 4 times larger. This shows that the Indian solid fuel is much less efficient.
