I don't know why you said the "author makes a strong argument" when there is very little evidence regarding what the future LCA Mk II will have compared with the existing J-10C. Regardless of how "good" the radar/missiles are (I won't comment on RCS because that is secret, influenced by whatever RAM coating is applied, and neither plane was designed for low RCS in the first place), I suspect Indian aero industry will have problems manufacturing at large enough scale to meet IAF needs in the near future, while production of all J-10 variants is ramping down in favour of J-20.
