the rich Chinese have long left Indonesia, only their businesses remains, even their money were parked outside. The middle class and the poor ones mostly have no way out, nor do they want to leave behind every thing they have worked for.
Frankly, the Indonesian gov and Indonesian people do try their best to take down the discrimination against Indonesian Chinese, there are many they have done to address the issue, especially since what happened in 1998. I'm not that worried about the ethnic discrimination today. I'm more worried about the rise of the religious intolerance conducted by minority Islamists but with powerful voices and influences, it is especially prevalent against the Indonesian Christians. Btw, I'm Buddhist myself.
