There are the whites, who rule, they could be Liberals or Conservatives. Then there are the blacks and their sympathizers who are tearing down the statues of old white men.
Obviously, there is finally a clear break from the past. The old guard, is on its way out, as there can not be any reconciliation between the pro-statue people and the anti-statue people.
Now where to the Chinese people fit in? Right in the middle I think.
Maybe I don't like those statues because I think they are ugly, but I have no inclination to tear them down, because that would be kind of stupid.
Going forward, the gap will widen between the pro-statue people and the anti-statue people.
But for the Chinese in North America, I think the status quo will prevail for us.
The blacks already don't like the Chinese, but they hate whitey even more. That won't change.
The whites, dislike and are fearful of the blacks. They might not like or accept the Chinese, but at least they are not black, and are willing to work with Chinese, even though they still hold discriminatory attitudes.
I find it very interesting because I am in the middle of it.
Seems to me that polarization will increase, but the status quo for someone like me will be steadfastly maintained.
What is happening now, on the streets, seems epic.
That black guy who died, the "I can't breath," guy, he died from fentynal overdose according the medical autopsy.
But no one cares.
This is a real movement, but no one really knows where it is headed, but I believe I will stay right in the middle as a minor point in the larger struggle.
What are they struggling over? It is hard to say.
Therefore, my cynical side says something is in the works, there will be some sort of manipulation sooner or later by someboey, who knows. LOL.
